Matthew McConaughey Engaged To Long Time Girlfriend And Baby Mama Camila Alves – Why Now?
Daily Mail: Matthew McConaughey is engaged to his long-term love and mother of his two children, Camila Alves. The 42-year-old proposed to the Brazilian model and television performer on Christmas Day yesterday. The actor shared the happy news with his fans on Twitter.
He wrote: ‘just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas.’ The Lincoln Lawyer star also posted a picture of the happy couple sharing a romantic kiss in front of their Christmas tree on his WhoSay account. The Texas born-screen star met Alves, in 2006.
The couple have two children, son Levi Alves McConaughey – who was born in 2008 – and daughter Vida Alves McConaughey – who was born in 2010 – together. The pair live between Austin in Matthew’s home state and Malibu, though McConaughey lived for years in an RV nearby – professing a love for the simple life.
The proposal may have come as a surprise to Camila, who recently revealed that she and her Matthew were in no rush walk down the aisle in the near future. ‘We’ve got no plans right now,’ she told OK magazine. ‘We’re good as we are right now. We’re happy and good as we are. So far, so good!’
You seem to hear about this happening in Hollywood a lot. Two people are together for a while with no plans to get married. They have kids together, etc. Then a while they, they go and get married. What I don’t get is WHY???? They already live together. They already had kids together. More than one, so they couldn’t have just been accidents. At this point why bother getting married? It doesn’t really mean anything in Hollywood anymore anyway except for then she can just get more of his money WHEN they split up. Yes I said when. Half of all marriages end unfortunately but in Hollywood I think that percentage is probably more like 90%. I hope he had her sign a prenup.
