“Mom, Where’s Dad?” “Oh He’s Out In The Garden” Literally
Florida, where else: Perhaps this woman really believed in the potency of herbal remedies. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake Alfred Police Department are currently conducting a joint investigation concerning the death of Benny Scott, according to Donna C. Wood, Public Information Officer for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. And with good reason.
Barbara Scott, 66, reportedly told Lake Alfred cops that she buried her husband, Benny, 77, under an herb garden in the couple’s backyard after his death in January. The couple had lived in Oklahoma prior to moving to Florida sometime around 2009, according to initial information from the investigation
Barbara Scott began telling her daughter and her son-in-law that Benny had gone to Oklahoma to visit a sick friend. When friends and family in Oklahoma called asking to speak to Benny, Barbara would tell them Benny was ill with a throat ailment and unable to speak on the phone, according to Wood.
After Barbara Scoot’s daughter, Sonya Braudway, had a conversation with her brother, who lives in Oklahoma, she realized that her mother had been telling different stories to different people regarding Benny’s whereabouts. When she confronted her mother, Barbara ‘fessed up and told her daughter that she had buried Benny in the back yard, according to a report.
Investigators later found Benny Scott’s body buried in a grave approximately 3-4 feet deep beneath the herb garden. Scott is a woman with a past, according to authorities.
Barbara Lewis Scott was arrested in Oklahoma 1987 on embezzlement charges, convicted, and sentenced to five years in prison. According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections website, she was convicted in March 1988 and incarcerated from then until September 1991. The investigation is ongoing.
The cause of death is unknown at this time. An autopsy will be completed today.
This woman is no joke. I bet she threatened this dude a number of times that she’d bury his ass out in the garden but he just chalked it up to her just venting and exaggerating. Well, she wasn’t apparently. Guys, if your woman ever threatens to do something to you when you guys are arguing, take her seriously. When people are angry or drunk they say their true thoughts and feelings. Get the fuck out. Or she’ll bury you ass in the garden.
