Does This Look Like A Man Who Threatened To Behead His Girlfriend With A Sword For Deleting His Meth Dealers Number From His Cell Phone
Minnesota: The Vadnais Heights man smashed furniture, threatened to cut off his girlfriend’s head with a samurai sword and screamed at her 10-year-old son. The reason for his anger: His girlfriend had erased a number from his cellphone that she believed belonged to his drug dealer.
Those are among the allegations in a criminal complaint charging Glenn Patrick Smith, 50, with two counts of terroristic threats. The girlfriend called 911 on Monday, May 14, about Smith’s alleged rampage, saying at one point that he had just threatened to “shoot the cops” if deputies arrived, according to the criminal complaint filed Wednesday in Ramsey County District Court.
The complaint gives the following details from the incident in the 500 block of Belland Avenue: On the 17-minute 911 call, the dispatcher could hear Smith smashing things in the apartment and screaming in the background. The girlfriend pleads with him to stop. He threatens to throw things out a window.
The woman and the boy escaped when Ramsey County deputies arrived. The woman said Smith had been smoking methamphetamine, so she deleted the drug dealer’s number earlier that day. About 2 p.m., she said, Smith discovered the number was erased and called to confront her about it. ”When she arrived home, Smith was sharpening a samurai sword in their tuck-under garage,” the complaint said. She asked him how he was.
He began yelling, lifted the sword above his head, and said, “Want me to cut your head off?” Intending to check on her son, the girlfriend went inside. Smith followed. He picked up a chair along the way and smashed it, then tore the stove vent hood off the wall and kicked a coffee table across the room. He also threatened to throw a curio cabinet off the family’s third-floor balcony.
The boy told deputies that he had been listening to music when Smith grabbed his laptop and threw it. Smith yelled at him to “grow up, get a job and become a man,” the complaint said. Smith picked up a baseball bat and swung it around the room, swatting things off a table. Deputies found a “suspected controlled substance” in Smith’s possession that they believed was meth. He was not charged with a drug offense.
Smith told deputies he was angry when he found out his girlfriend had deleted the phone numbers. He said one was the number for a work contact and one belonged to another woman he was seeing. He denied he threatened to cut his girlfriend’s head off and said he was just “tapping” on the walls with the baseball bat. Smith was booked into the Ramsey County Jail at 6:50 p.m. Monday. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 30.
Why yes, I believe it does look like a man who would do that. But damn dude, rule number one if you are with a chick who doesn’t trust your druggie ass, LOCK YOUR CELL PHONE! What’s she doing getting to go through your phone anyway? That’s relationship 101, especially considering you are trying to hide your meth dealer and your OTHER GIRLFRIEND from her. This dude brought it on himself. But seriously, what was this chick thinking??? Deleting a meth head’s meth dealers phone number???? That’s a beheading!
