Robyn, his ex-wife of nearly 30 years and the mother of their seven children, is walking away with half his fortune, once estimated to be as high as $850 million (according to the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2006) in what is considered the biggest divorce payout in Hollywood history.

Because the couple didn’t have a prenuptial agreement, Robyn, 55, was legally entitled to half of everything he earned during their marriage.

Among Gibson’s estimated assets: more than $600 million grossed by The Passion of the Christ alone; $100-plus million in real estate investments worldwide (he bought an island in Fiji for $15 million in 2005); and $75 million for film and TV projects for which Gibson, 55, executive produced.

It appears some of his wealth has already been transferred to Robyn, in particular two Malibu homes worth a combined $22.5 million. As for film residuals, Robyn is entitled to half of every future check Gibson receives for the rest of his life.

Holy shit! This hurts even me to think about! Ok so they were married for 30 years and they had a couple kids I think. Did this bitch work? I doubt she actually raised the kids herself as I’m sure they had nannies up the ass when the Lethal Weapon money started rolling in. So I ask you, what the fuck could this broad have done that is worth more than $400 million dollars??? Shouldn’t there be some sort of cap on what women get from men? Women like to say that the “salary” for being a stay at home housewife is like $150k a year or something. So why the heck should she get $400 million for 30 years just because her husband became wildly successful? All the women are going to say shit like “She probably emotionally supported him” or “I bet she was his inspiration” blah blah blah. It’s all bullshit. She basically won the lottery.

Oh and the kicker is that every single residual check Mel gets for the rest of his life for movies he made during the marriage, he has to cut her a check. So it’s the gift that keeps on giving. WTF.
